Frequently Asked Questions
While many patients are referred by their general dentist, a referral is not always required. You are welcome to contact us directly to schedule a consultation. We will coordinate with your dentist as needed throughout your treatment.
Please bring a valid photo ID, your dental insurance card, a list of current medications, and any relevant X-rays or referral documents from your dentist. If you have completed your new patient forms in advance, please bring those as well.
We recommend arriving 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. This allows our team to verify your information, process insurance details, and ensure your visit starts on time.
We accept most major dental insurance plans. Our billing team will verify your benefits before treatment and help you understand your coverage. If you are unsure whether we accept your plan, please call our office and we will check for you.
Yes. We offer flexible in-house payment plans as well as third-party financing options for qualified patients. Our goal is to make quality oral surgical care accessible and affordable for everyone.
We offer local anesthesia, nitrous oxide (laughing gas), IV sedation, and general anesthesia. Your surgeon will recommend the best option based on your procedure, medical history, and personal comfort level.
Procedure times vary depending on the type and complexity of surgery. Simple extractions may take 30-45 minutes, while more complex procedures like dental implants or wisdom teeth removal typically take 1-2 hours. Your surgeon will provide a specific time estimate during your consultation.
Some discomfort and swelling after surgery is normal and expected. We provide detailed aftercare instructions and prescribe appropriate pain management medication to keep you comfortable during recovery. Most patients find that discomfort is very manageable and improves significantly within a few days.
Recovery time depends on the procedure. Most patients can return to light activities within 2-3 days after routine procedures. More complex surgeries may require a longer recovery period. We provide specific recovery guidelines for every procedure during your pre-operative consultation.
For the first 24-48 hours after most procedures, we recommend a soft food diet — things like yogurt, smoothies, soup, and mashed potatoes. You should avoid hot foods, straws, and hard or crunchy items until your surgeon clears you. We provide a detailed dietary guide as part of your post-operative instructions.
Most adults with good general health are candidates for dental implants. During your consultation, our surgeons will evaluate your bone density, oral health, and medical history to determine if implants are right for you. In some cases, bone grafting may be recommended to create a strong foundation for implant placement.
With proper care and regular dental check-ups, dental implants can last a lifetime. The implant post itself fuses permanently with the jawbone. The crown or restoration on top may need replacement after 10-15 years due to normal wear, but the implant itself is designed to be a permanent solution.
All-on-X is a full-arch tooth replacement technique that uses strategically placed implants to support a complete set of fixed teeth. It is ideal for patients who are missing most or all of their teeth and want a permanent, non-removable solution. Many patients can receive temporary teeth on the same day as their surgery.
